TEAM FROM KOLA PERUMAL BAGS 7.5 LAKHS

It was a triumphant moment when the team from the Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav Senior Secondary School was declared the National winners from among 100 premier schools in the country at the ‘Green I” Competition held on 24 September 2008 at Mumbai. It was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries, Yi and Carrier. The competition aimed at encouraging students to think about conservation and instill environmental awareness among school children.
The students made their presentations under the theme:
‘Greenery Generates life, so let us Generate Greenery’
Prinshu, M. Ranjani, G. Manasa, S. Prathiba and K.R. Archana under the guidance of their teacher Smt. K.R. Meenalochani managed to top the contest because of their innovative ideas and practical reasoning.
The school management, in particular Shri Govind Das ji the Secretary & Correspondent and Principal Shri L. Neelakanta Pillai of the school gave full support and encouragement to pursue this project and make this venture successful.
The school can boast of 8 rain water harvesting systems on campus and a roof garden atop the school building. Nesting of birds in the school encourages organic fertilization in the school garden.
The Management, Principal, staff and students of the school congratulate the winners for their stupendous performance and for romping home with laurels.
